rimmel scandal eyes mascara

| On

Rimmel seem to keep bringing out different versions of their Scandal Eyes mascara at the minute but here's my thoughts on their original. I'm lucky that I have quite long lashes, but for me mascara is the most important part of getting ready, I hardly every wear false lashes which means I rely on mascara to do the job for me.
Firstly, it's in bright orange packaging, with faint glittery bits if you look really closely, it's a bold colour, probably wouldn't be my first choice but it does make it stand out in my basket, meaning it gets its fair share of use. Also it's on the big size for a mascara, as it contains 12ml of product. On the packaging Rimmel's description says "no lash can escape! Scandalous volume, no clumps!". For a mascara no clumps is pretty big claim, so I was intrigued.

The big brush means it collects collects lots of product making it quick, easy and smooth to apply and immediately adds volume to my lashes. Though less is definitely more as I have to be careful not apply too much as it does tend to clump. however I only use it lightly on my bottom lashes but that's just a personal choice, I don't like them being too long and spidery. Also it lasts a whole day, without crumbling under my eyes or giving me a panda look, and isn't too stubborn to take off at night.
Overall, I'd say this is a good mascara, it's cheep and adds volume and length but doesn't always define each lash. Next time I'd like to try another version of Rimmel's Scandal Eye's mascaras.

new addition to family

| On
As I'm in the last few months of my a-levels and will be going to university in September I managed to convince my parents it was the perfect time to get a dog. (This is something I honestly never thought would happen). Luckily enough my mum's cousin had just bred Cocker Spaniel's and had a few puppies left meaning that just over a week later we have a puppy!

So this is Archie our new Cocker Spaniel puppy and he's just 12 weeks old! He is adorable and ridiculously cute however I didn't realise just how much attention a puppy needs and how much they chew. It's definitely put me off having children for a while! Anyway I thought I'd share this news on my blog as it it's pretty big news (for me anyway) and I thought if I ever mentioned Archie people would have no idea who he was. If anyone has any tips or advice about looking after puppies and dogs I would appreciate them, at the minute he chews anything and everything including my tights!

mark hill miracOILicious

As my hairs been feeling a little sad and dry recently I thought I'd give it a little treat so I brought Mark Hill's MiracOILicious 2 Minute Intensive Treatment. It is described as an exotic blind of 14 of the finest essential oils and plant extracts (and lists them all, most of which I've never heard of) and is for dry and damaged hair and claims that it will leave your hair looking healthier and shinier then you ever thought possible.
It comes in a large tub (200ml) and you just scope some out with your fingers and use as a conditioner on wet hair after shampooing and leave in for 2 minutes. I must admit after using it my hair definitely does feel in a better condition and looks a lot healthier. The black packaging does give it a serious sort of look and the smell isn't horrible but it definitley reminds you that it's got different oils and plant extracts in. However if it works and makes your hair look shinier it doesn't matter what it looks or smells like really so I'd say this is a nice little treat for when you're hair's looking a little down.

maybelline baby lips in cherry me

| On

Being a bit behind I've only just recently brought my first baby lips, and because I had read and heard so much about them, it had a lot to live up to!
Firstly, I brought mine in Cherry Me, I thought it was daunting at first in the bright orange packaging and the bright red product. However as it is described as a lip balm with a hint of colour I assumed that if it was too red I could still use as a lip balm (not that I don't have plenty already). Once applied it is moisturising on the lips and gives a subtle tint of red to the lips but nothing too extreme, I found it would have worn off by two hours. As it's so small it's always in my pencil case at school so this isn't a problem at all.
It's sleek packaging means that there is a satisfying click when you place the outer case on top, and also the product itself has a cherry scent. I wouldn't say it's a realistically the smell of fresh cherries but it's not a horrible artificial smell. Actually it's exactly the same smell as a cherry scented doll I had when I was little and so it brings plenty of my childhood memories back to me.

As you can see it doesn't look very different from a regular lip balm on me, still I've found myself reaching for it every morning and as it only has a hint of colour it's perfect to reapply anywhere and on the go though out the day.
Also thank you for reading my first post, I've always been tempted to start my own blog and tried and failed each time but I'm definitely going to keep at it this time, and hopefully I'll get better at writing posts!
