soap and glory blush brick in peach party

| On
So I feel like an apology is needed because for the past few months they've been pretty hetic, but I've loved it. Basically I've moved to university and I've finished my first term which is a little bit scary! And because now I have a build up of essays to write it made me realise that I should get back in to blogging as it's something I enjoy, and gives me a way to procrastinate. Anyway my blogging break was unintentional and I'm going try so hard now to manage my time better I'm order to keep up with university but still make time to blog.

Moving on, this little gem is something I picked up at the end of summer and thought it was pretty but never realised that I would love it as much as I do now! Its the soap and glory peach party blush brick, which is similar to the other brands shimmer brick. It comes in sleek packaging, with a decent sized compact mirror. All the five shades are swirled together and could be used separately if you really wanted to. Personally I like to use this over the top of my blusher in order to give a glow to my face, but not embracing the shiny look. The reason I love this product so much is because it's natural, it's perfect for summer but also I've found myself using it a lot in the autumn and winter months! Also this is one of the first soap and glory make up products I've tried and I love it, what's your favourite winter make up products and looks?

my holy grail blusher!

| On
When thinking about this post, it was definitely a close call between my Benefit Bella Bamba blush which I adore and the Body Shop baked blush. The reason I decided that the Body Shop blush was my holy grail blusher is because I've had that a lot longer and I still  use it even though I have Bella Bamba.
As you can see from my blush collection which I did a while back, I only a own a few different blushers so there wasn't much to choose from and I am by no means a blusher expert! However I thought I'd share with you why I love my Body Shop baked blush so much, mines in the shade 02 Coral and I think they're just over £10. However I've had this blusher for two years and constantly use it and it's still not really dinted. I know people have problem with the residue on baked blushers but I've never experienced that but I do just scrape the top sometimes to make it a bit fresher. As you can see it comes in  pretty simple clear packaging and the symbol has slightly worn of mine and you get 5g of blush. The blush itself is deep rosy pink with shimmer, but I'd say it still has pink undertones and not coral, so I don't really agree with the shade name which has always confused me. Also a third of the product is a lovely apricot highlighter with shimmer, which compliments the blush perfectly. This means that this is the perfect product for on the go and travelling with
I like to apply this blusher with my real techniques blusher blush, and just dust it across my cheeks to add more colour and life back in to my face! Mines a bit old and looks a bit worn now but I guess that's just because I've used it so much!
Blushers are my weakness because I find the colours and the packaging both so pretty, what's your holy grail blusher?

benefit bella bamber

| On

At the beginning of the month I wrote that this would be the product I was trying this month. Bella Bamber blush is my first benefit product and I brought it on the spur of the moment. I love the packaging, even though it it cardboard it hasn't shown any damage from a month of intense use,but I wouldn't recommend seeing how strong this is! I know it came with it's own angled shaped brush but I found it much easier to apply using my real techniques blusher brush.
The blush itself, is not the most pigmented but it is build-able, and so you can make it as subtle or as intense as you want. I like to use it to give a fresh glow to my cheeks, even though it is a shimmery blush, it's not over powering. Now on to the minor details, it has a fruity non-cosmetic smell and even though it is expensive you get a lot of blusher and the product will last you.
Overall, I've fallen in love with this blush, and I'm saving up for my next benefit order!

blush collection

| On

As you can see, I only own five blushers and so my collection isn't too big nor is it full of bright adventurous colours, I tend to stick to more subtle and natural shades of pink. Even though I don't own many, blush is the first think I notice at a make up stand because I'm drawn to the pretty colours and if it was acceptable and I had more money I would probably own a lot more! I thought this post would be a good idea as I'm always interested in other peoples make up and what they think of them.
Firstly, I have the Body Shop blusher in shade coral, though I wouldn't agree it lives up to it's name it's much more of a pinky tone and it comes with it's own highlighter. I love this blush, it's not the most pigmented but it's the one I find myself reaching for the most as you can built it up to give the right amount of colour without looking too bright.
Next is my NYX blush in the shade Rose Garden, I brought this on ebay last summer as I'd watched american beauty bloggers talk about NYX products and I was keen to try them. I also like the quilted effect of the product. The colour itself is a light pink and so is perfect for spring and summer to add little colour and glow to my cheeks.
Following this is my most "embarrassing blush" it's a Miss Sporty blush in Sienna. I think I brought this when I was first getting into make up, it's not the most pigmented product but it does look natural so if I'm going for a "no blush" day this is a good option.
Finally I have my two Bourjois blushers, one is a cream blush in shade 4, sweet cherry. This is the darkest shade of the range but you can apply it lightly to give a slight flush to the cheeks and it's an easy to use product. Then there's the little round pot blush in the shade rose de jasper, this is a lovely colour, it's shimmer looks daunting in the pan but once applied it's more subtle and gives a pretty look to the cheeks. Overall I like the Bourjois blushes the most, in their compact packaging but also I love the smell! (just realised how weird that makes me sound).
What's your favourite blusher?
