benefit bella bamber

| On

At the beginning of the month I wrote that this would be the product I was trying this month. Bella Bamber blush is my first benefit product and I brought it on the spur of the moment. I love the packaging, even though it it cardboard it hasn't shown any damage from a month of intense use,but I wouldn't recommend seeing how strong this is! I know it came with it's own angled shaped brush but I found it much easier to apply using my real techniques blusher brush.
The blush itself, is not the most pigmented but it is build-able, and so you can make it as subtle or as intense as you want. I like to use it to give a fresh glow to my cheeks, even though it is a shimmery blush, it's not over powering. Now on to the minor details, it has a fruity non-cosmetic smell and even though it is expensive you get a lot of blusher and the product will last you.
Overall, I've fallen in love with this blush, and I'm saving up for my next benefit order!

my night out make up

| On

When going out I like to stick to products I know look nice and I can trust to get me through the night, this isn't a definite list of what I wear every time I go out or to party but it normally involves most of these products with just few changes.
So for my base, I use the 17 Photo Flawless Primer, I think a trustee primer is a must for big night as it will give your make up more staying power but also give you a smoother base. I like this primer for the occasional use but I find that if I use it on a day to day basis it causes me to breakout. Then for foundation I use the trust Maybelline Stay Matte Mousse, I love the finish of this foundation and how quick and easy it is to apply, I then use the Bourjois Healthy Mix Concealer, in order to cover up any redness or tired looking eyes, which you really don't want ruining a big night! and then finish it off by using the Bourjois Healthy Balance Powder
Then for cheeks I use the Bourjois Bronzing Powder, that looks like chocolate, this is actually the only bronzer I own but I love it so much I don't see a need to buy another one. I then stick to my trust Body Shop Mineralised Blusher which gives a lovely glow to the cheeks and has it's own highlighter included.
My favourite part of getting ready to go out, is eye make up as I like to spend a bit longer on them then I normally would. I use the Maybelline Silk Glam Quad in Grey Pink Drama, I particularly like these shadows as they're soft colours I find it looks less harsh than applying a black eye shadow. I then use Rimmel Glam Eyes Liquid Eyeliner which stays put all night so you don't finish the night with panda eyes. Then mascara is something I change regularly but the ones in the picture are Rimmel Scandal Eyes and then Collection Super Size, this is a smaller brush and I like to use this on my bottom lashes as it's lighter and doesn't crumble.
To finish the look off I wear the Maybelline Coloursensational Lipstick in Sweet Pink, this is a soft pretty pink which looks lovely and I find is a lot easier then faffing trying to keep a bold lip in place all night!

urban decay naked 3

| On

First a Benefit order, now an Urban Decay order, I don't know what's been happening to me lately! Anyway so I've brought the Naked 3 Palette and I love it already, I know there's so many posts about it already so I don't see the point in doing a review type post as I'd just be repeating them. But here's a few pictures (it's even prettier in real life!) I love the rose gold packaging and most importantly all the eyeshadows inside, I thought after I've had time to get to grips with it I'll do a post showing you my favourite eye looks.

bourjois rouge edition lipstick in rose millesime

| On

Finding an excuse to buy a new lipstick is not something I find difficult, so the other day on a Boots 3 for 2 offer I managed to pick up a Bourjois lipstick. I've never tried a Bourjois lip product before but I do love all of their products I've tried so far ( foundations, powders, concealer, bliushers and bronzers ) so I had high hopes.
The lipstick is in shade 17 and is called Rose Millesime and is a lovely dark dirty pink red-ish colour, and if you look closely has small amount of shimmer. The packaging is sleek, and the product itself is easy to get to, also on the bottom it clearly shows you the colour of the lipstick inside so would make it easy to recognise which one is which if you had more than one.
I love the product itself, you can apply it lightly or build it up for a more intense colour, it feels quite thick and maybe a little drying when you first apply it but after that it just feels normal, and I'd say it does last a for a few hours at school before it needs reapplying. The colour itself is lovely as it's a more subtle alternative to red lips, which is something I can't pull off I just look silly when I try. But Bourjois has once again made a lovely product and have not let me down!

tweezerman file, buff and shine kit

| On

I'm not gonna lie, looking after my nails is something that I've neglected for a long time. I've been needing to buy a new nail file since before christmas but in the rush of other things I'd completely forgotten. This week my nails reached a low getting stained by yellow and green face paint so I thought it was definitely time to take action!
I brought the tweezerman file, buff and shine kit, I'm not really sure what the actual name of this set is but I that will do, and it was around five pounds. The file comes with it's own case, which I thought was pretty nifty and the block has three different surfaces to buff shine and smooth.
Then I got down to using them and having a mini pamper session for my nails. The nail file worked so well, I forgot how quick and easy doing your nails were with a decent file! And the block was simple to use as the packaging tells you which surface does what, so I'll definitely need to learn them before I get rid of it. The block worked so well my nails feel smooth and so look and feel so much healthier then they did before so it does work. I then finished it off with some soap and glory hand food which I is such a lovely hand cream and leaves your hands smelling lovely.
Overall, I do like this nail product set, but this is probably just me, I don't think there's too much difference between nail files as long as they do the job then it's fine for me!

rimmel scandal eyes retro glam mascara

| On

About a month ago, I wrote a post about Rimmel's Scandal Eyes mascara which I do actually like. Rimmel have adapted the original and keep releasing different versions with a different selling point but sticking to the thick tube. This means it is still in same shape tube but instead gives a different look.
In the retro glam mascara, you get 12ml which is slightly more than normal I'd say, it's black and white packaging certainly gives it a retro look as well. However the mascara itself I find that some days when I apply it the curved brushes manages to get all more lashes and lengthen them but there's a fine line between looking good and applying too much. This means that with this mascara I find it easy to cross that boundary and apply too much and land up with clumpy lashes (and when your me judging my day by how well my eyelashes look it means I've had a lot of bad days recently!).
I really do want to like this mascara, but I just can't get it to work for me and I much prefer the original but if I can I would like to try the other versions too.

product I'm trying this month: benefit bella bamba blush

| On

can't remember whose blog I read this post on but I thought it was such a good idea as it gives you the whole month to tell you my opinions and thoughts rather than a few days. It also gives me time to experiment with different looks eg. daytime and night-time.
So this March, I'll be trying the Benefit Bella Bamba Blush. This is my first Benefit purchase, I'd spent ages looking at the products deciding what I'd buy (knowing full well I wasn't able to afford all of them). So the other day on a wimp, I just went for it and a brought one. I got Bella Bamba as you got a free Cha Cha tint with it so it was a win win situation. It's a lovely deep pink colour with a bit of shimmer and in adorable packaging! I know it comes with a mini brush that I'm sure one day they'll be the perfect time to use it but instead I'll used my real techniques blush brush.
So I'll carry on using this product this month and then share my thoughts with you at the end of the month. Lets just hope I don't get addicted to Benefit makeup!
