the natural eye makeup look

| On

Firstly, on a none post related note, yesterday was Alevel Results Day and so I hope if any of you received results you were happy with your grades, and if you are in the same position as me got into University. Also good luck if you're still waiting to hear about your results good luck for them too! Back to the post, today I'm trying something slightly different and showing you how I do this ultra simple natural eye make up, I know it's not the most detailed and dramatic look but for a simple day it's normally all I have time for and can be bothered to do! So, I use three different shadows on this look, and two are within an avon compact. The AVON true colour compact is in iced coffee and the  MAC eyeshadow is a fake (from ebay) but it works perfectly fine and is in the shade Sable. Both of these were cheap which is why they have a lot of fall out and are not the most pigmented but they're good enough for me. Though to swatch the palest shade in the picture above it took a good number of tries. This is  why I just use the palest cream colour in the inner corner of my eyes to brighten them. I then swipe the "coffee" brown all over my lid, blending it into the lighter colour. Finally in the outer corner I blend a tiny bit of sable and bring it up into my crease. Normally, I'd complete the look with a little eyeliner or bring the darker eyeshadow along the lower lash line and complete with liquid eyeliner on top and a bit more mascara, I was definitely having a lazy day when I took these pictures!

my over night make up bag

| On

With a trip to London, Birmingham and lots of nights away coming up I've realised I need to get used to using a condensed make up as to take all my make up would be an unrealistic option. So here are the essentials that I will be relying on this summer. Also I'm sure I've reviewed half of these items so if you're interested in something have a look around my blog and it will probably be there or just ask me any questions.
For my base, I'm relying on my 17 Photo Flawless Primer, Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation (Which I'm beginning to love) and Concealer and then the Seventeen Miracle Matte Pressed Powder which is nothing special but does finish of my face.
Then for cheeks I'm using the Bourjois Delice de Poudre in the darker of the two shades. I love this bronzer, it's the only bronzers I own to be honest but why ruin a  good thing. Then to just add a little bit of colour to my cheeks I'm using the Bourjois Little Round Pot Blush in the shade Rose de Jaspe, this is the perfect light and flirty pink for summer so doesn't look overpowering on the cheeks at all.
On to eyes, the Maybelline Brow Drama which I love for quick fix to sort my eyebrows out, I'm kinda lazy really! Then to keep my eyes simple and I don't want to have to worry about maintaining my eyeshadow I'm just going to use the Bourjois Colour Edition 24HR Eyeshadow, which is soft and lovely and lasts all day. My eyeliners and mascaras are just rimmel, collection and seventeen.
Finally for Lips I'll take my strawberry Chapstick (or the other first  lip balm I come too), then one Elf Lip Gloss (I'm not really a lip gloss person but I'm trying to train myself to like it) and then a Bourjois Rouge Editon Lipstick as this is subtle and not too heavy and  will go with everything.
Phew, and this is me trying to condense my make up bag! still I'll probably get there and wish I'd brought something else instead!

leavers ball

| On
It's official, I've left school! Which I think is a big point in anyone's life and to mark the occasion I had my leavers ball on Friday so I thought I'd share the products I used to help anyone else out if you're stuck.
For my hair, I curled it using my Baybliss Boutique curling wand which gives large waves which I find works best for my thick and long hair and then I just pinned the front and top sections up to keep it  out of my face, to keep it secure I used Tresemme Freeze Hold hairspray, which I would recommend to everyone as it keeps curls in all night but does't give your hair the crispy look or feel. My dress itself was quite simple with an embellished waist but I really liked!
Now on to make up, for the base I used Benefit Porefessionals for my primer, and then the trusty Maybelline Dream Matte mouse and Bourjois Healthy Mix powder. These are all products I love and so trusted to get me through the next. For Bronzer I used the Bourjois Delice de Poudre and my Body Shop Baked Blush in Shade 2 Coral, even though I use this constantly it's yet to be dinted!
Then on my eyes, I used one my urban decay samples, and I used Eden to compliment the shadows that I used from the Naked 3 Pallete. The shadows I used were dust, limit, nooner and liar these aren't the most dramatic colours in the pallete but I wanted a simple and subtle eye but not too boring. To finish this off I linked my eyes with the Rimmel Glam Eyes Liquid Eyeliner and finished the look off with some false corner eyelashes (which I wasn't used to wearing and they made me blink quite a lot!).
Finally I used the Maybelline Colour-sensation Lipstick in Sweet Pink, which is a natural pink lip colour with a slight shimmer.
Phew! so many things to remember then, so I hope if your stuck for good make up products for an upcoming summer event such as ball, prom or even a wedding I hoped this helped!

my night out make up

| On

When going out I like to stick to products I know look nice and I can trust to get me through the night, this isn't a definite list of what I wear every time I go out or to party but it normally involves most of these products with just few changes.
So for my base, I use the 17 Photo Flawless Primer, I think a trustee primer is a must for big night as it will give your make up more staying power but also give you a smoother base. I like this primer for the occasional use but I find that if I use it on a day to day basis it causes me to breakout. Then for foundation I use the trust Maybelline Stay Matte Mousse, I love the finish of this foundation and how quick and easy it is to apply, I then use the Bourjois Healthy Mix Concealer, in order to cover up any redness or tired looking eyes, which you really don't want ruining a big night! and then finish it off by using the Bourjois Healthy Balance Powder
Then for cheeks I use the Bourjois Bronzing Powder, that looks like chocolate, this is actually the only bronzer I own but I love it so much I don't see a need to buy another one. I then stick to my trust Body Shop Mineralised Blusher which gives a lovely glow to the cheeks and has it's own highlighter included.
My favourite part of getting ready to go out, is eye make up as I like to spend a bit longer on them then I normally would. I use the Maybelline Silk Glam Quad in Grey Pink Drama, I particularly like these shadows as they're soft colours I find it looks less harsh than applying a black eye shadow. I then use Rimmel Glam Eyes Liquid Eyeliner which stays put all night so you don't finish the night with panda eyes. Then mascara is something I change regularly but the ones in the picture are Rimmel Scandal Eyes and then Collection Super Size, this is a smaller brush and I like to use this on my bottom lashes as it's lighter and doesn't crumble.
To finish the look off I wear the Maybelline Coloursensational Lipstick in Sweet Pink, this is a soft pretty pink which looks lovely and I find is a lot easier then faffing trying to keep a bold lip in place all night!
