burt's bees lip balm with pink grapefruit

| On

I'm one of those people who always carries a lip balm around with them and re-apply it throughout the day. So strolling around boots I realised that I've never tried a Burt's Bees product before and thought I'd start with a lip balm. I chose the one with pink grapefruit, which for some reason came in fancier packaging then the others but was still the same price. They stick away from the regular strawberry and apple flavours, and some of the other ones they had were mango butter and honey which both sound interesting.

It is described as a refreshing lip balm with pink grapefruit and a revitalising experience as the lip balm contains nutritious oil from the seeds of sweet citrus pink grapefruit, rich in powerful Vitamin C and E, and advertises that fact that it's 100% natural.

The product itself is clear, and doesn't tint the lips, it definitely smells of pink grapefruit but I'm not complaining as I like the fruit itself and eat for breakfast (don't know why I felt the need to add that in) This product isn't waxy like I expected and doesn't feel greasy or make your lips look greasy at all, instead it soaks into you lips (and not making you lips look greasy until you wipe it off) The simple packaging  make it easy to apply and pop into any bag to use throughout the day, and the adjustable bottom allows you wind up how much product you need. Also the coloured top would be useful if you had more than one in different flavours and so would allow you to distinguish between the two. Overall, this is good buy, a nice product and will get a lot of use this winter.

maybelline baby lips in cherry me

| On

Being a bit behind I've only just recently brought my first baby lips, and because I had read and heard so much about them, it had a lot to live up to!
Firstly, I brought mine in Cherry Me, I thought it was daunting at first in the bright orange packaging and the bright red product. However as it is described as a lip balm with a hint of colour I assumed that if it was too red I could still use as a lip balm (not that I don't have plenty already). Once applied it is moisturising on the lips and gives a subtle tint of red to the lips but nothing too extreme, I found it would have worn off by two hours. As it's so small it's always in my pencil case at school so this isn't a problem at all.
It's sleek packaging means that there is a satisfying click when you place the outer case on top, and also the product itself has a cherry scent. I wouldn't say it's a realistically the smell of fresh cherries but it's not a horrible artificial smell. Actually it's exactly the same smell as a cherry scented doll I had when I was little and so it brings plenty of my childhood memories back to me.

As you can see it doesn't look very different from a regular lip balm on me, still I've found myself reaching for it every morning and as it only has a hint of colour it's perfect to reapply anywhere and on the go though out the day.
Also thank you for reading my first post, I've always been tempted to start my own blog and tried and failed each time but I'm definitely going to keep at it this time, and hopefully I'll get better at writing posts!
